The ‘Dynamite Circle’ Story

It started because we wanted to meet entrepreneurs like us.

Back in 2009, Dan Andrews and Ian Schoen started a lifestyle business. It was an ecommerce company with outsourced talent and no need for an office. They shared the progress (and challenges) of that business journey on the Tropical MBA podcast and blog. At the time, offshoring, remote work, lifestyle businesses, and location independence were novel in the entrepreneurial realm. However, listeners of the pod began reaching out - many of whom were growing ambitious cash flow businesses with little more than a laptop and an idea.

In 2011, after 2 years of corresponding online, the listeners and hosts of the pod decided to meet up on a remote tropical island. About 20 people made the journey and the fuse was lit.

Over ten years and a thousand members later, the Dynamite Circle has faciliated countless connections between business owners. The community continues to thrive because it is driven forward by it’s passionate members. There are no gurus, there are no easy buttons. This is a community of practioners supporting each other thorugh the entrepreneurial journey.

The Community’s Values and Code of Conduct

The community has withstood the test of time because of its amazing members and their upholding of our Code of Conduct. Our members are welcoming and excited to share this community, but they are also protective of what we’ve built together.

Our members believe in giving more than they take. They know that their generosity is not only fulfilling and essential for this community’s growth, but that it also comes around many times over. The weekly podcast focused on telling the stories of location-independent, lifestyle business owners. The pod has led to thousands of entrepreneurs connecting with each, meeting in real life, and creating the Dynamite Circle community.

Dynamite Circle, est. 2011

What started with a dozen or so ‘online-money-makers’ meeting up in the Philippines has led to a global network of over a thousand entrepreneurs with cash-flow-positive businesses. Many members have been supporting each other for years and are close friends.

Dynamite Jobs, est. 2018

As the companies of DC members grew, a need to find quality, remote talent arose. The remote job board was created to attract the best available talent and connect them with companies of DC members. Since then, thousands of candidates have been hired at DJ.

Remote First Recruiting, est. 2022

As DC companies continued to grow, founders found themselves with less time and needed expert recruitment help with accessing hard-to-find talent and establishing hiring processes. The RFR team has helped hundreds of founders make successful hires.

It became clear how connected our brands where and how they all derived from the need to help one type of client: Six and seven-figure business owners. The brands have been united under the umbrella ‘Dynamite Brands.‘
