What Really Happens at DC MEXICO? An Insider Look
Where to begin!
We’re back from DC MEXICO with so much inspiration and tons of stories to tell. This was my first DC event, and now I understand why people say you have to experience the DC in-person to really get it. It’s almost impossible to convey what these events are like if you’ve never been in the room, but I’ll do my best to paint you a picture of what went down before, during, and after the event.
Mainstage speakers and the unconventional but successful business strategies they shared
Business breakthroughs and pivots during Mastermind Day
Women-only breakfast gathering
Parties and meet-ups outside of the business talks
Our first-ever DC Scavenger Hunt
And more!
Pre-Event: Hangouts, WhatsApp, and Whova
The DC MEXICO WhatsApp chat was active for months leading up to the event, but really got busy early in the days leading up to the event. Attendees were sharing contacts for trusted transport from the airport, giving restaurant recommendations, and helping each other get settled in the best way possible.
As members streamed in from countries all over the world, the meet-ups and hangouts began. Our event app was full of activities: yoga, birding tours, run clubs, golf, karaoke, and so much more. These pre-event meet-ups have become a signature part of DC events and are a great way to connect with members early, find common hobbies and interests, and explore a new city before getting down to business.
Welcome Mixer: Opening Up by the Ocean
Since most attendees were already in Playa del Carmen days before the event, we had a pre-event beachside Welcome Mixer at our official venue for the week: the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen. We couldn’t think of a better setting to ease into chats about business and life.
We learned about what our perfect week would look like, got candid about our bravest moments, and reflected on the people we’re most grateful for. The power of DC events rests in how open you’re willing to be, and this Mixer helped kindle a great environment for vulnerability.
Day 1: Mastermind Day
80% of attendees participated in Mastermind Day, a unique opportunity to brainstorm in curated groups of founders running similar businesses—whether by industry, model, size, or facing a unique problem.
For many attendees, this was the most powerful day of the event. Carrying over the momentum and vulnerability from the Welcome Mixer, they were able to unearth deep-rooted challenges and obstacles that kept them stuck or prevented them from making a move that could get their business to the next level.
Some groups even requested an extension of their mastermind time because of how much they were enjoying the session!
Attendees in DC BLACK got together for special programming on Mastermind Day, which included:
Small group masterminds around the theme “One thing I’d like to change”
Group lunch at La Cocina in the Grand Hyatt
Fireside chat with two special guests and a presentation by a fellow DC BLACK member
A second round of small group masterminds around the theme, “Should I go all in?”
Women’s Breakfast
Every major DC event since 2023 has included a women-only gathering. At DCMEX, 25 attendees got together for a special women-only breakfast on the patio at La Cocina.
This is a special bonding opportunity for the women of the DC, where we can talk freely about topics that the guys… just wouldn’t get. There’s something magical about a group of women sharing space, especially a group with as many accomplishments as this one.
Our goal is to keep those connections going through our WhatsApp groups for Women and Moms of the DC, women-only Connect Calls on a more regular basis, and continued in-person meet ups.
Days 2 and 3: Mainstage, Meet-Ups, and More
Back to business: mainstage speakers sharing stories and tactics from their own businesses, tactical presentations covering specific business strategies and topics, and a smattering of casual meet-ups and non-work activities in between (like a pretty serious ping-pong tournament in the Grand Hyatt’s game room).
Jesse Emia pulled back the curtain to show us the process he uses in his $3.6m business to create and track OKRs, complete with screenshots from his P&L and the backend of his Profit.com workflow.
Ray Blakney returned to the DCMEX stage for “Millionaire to Bankruptcy: Episode II”—the gut-wrenching and hope-inspiring story of how he sold his business to scammers, and the simple but powerful steps he’s taking to recover.
Daniel Schreiber walked us through a “paid group workshop” process that has generated $3m in new sales for his fitness app since 2023, and showed how much better it converts than 1:1 sales calls or webinars.
Timothy Moser showed us the detailed playbook for his unique giveaway strategy, which has doubled his business revenue 3 times, by going deeper with his current audience rather than going wider.
On top of these insightful mainstage talks, we also had presentations on:
What’s working on LinkedIn in 2025—stats, algorithm insights, and observations from founders building their personal brands on the platform
When to install a CEO, and the kind of person you need to look for in that role
Miles and points meet-up
How a book can boost your business, and how to write one
Scaling ads, scaling impact: behind the scenes of a $5M online course business
How to know if you should prepare your business for a massive exit, or hold it forever
What direction to take with SEO when everything feels like it’s crashing and burning
Specific marketing channels and strategies that are working for business owners in various industries—organic FB groups generating $1 mil per year, YouTube videos driving traffic even without AdSense, viral LinkedIn lead magnets…
Smarter Meta ads with AI: real prompts, real accounts, and real results
How to scale faster with EAs vs a leadership team
AI discussions, creative agency owners meet-up, tariff talks, and more!
With shared PDFs, videos, and other extensive resources to take home, attendees walked away from these presentations with deeper insights and new strategies to apply in their businesses immediately.
The First-Ever DC Scavenger Hunt!
In the spirit of connections and going deeper than surface level, we came up with a Scavenger Hunt competition to get members moving and meeting other DCers.
Two attendees in particular took the hunt very seriously, and were rewarded for their efforts with a free ticket to any DC event of their choice, plus limited edition DC swag.
Look out for the Scavenger Hunt again at DCBKK… 😉
Sponsor Shout-Out: Presentations, Giveaways, and Meaningful Collaborations
Special thank you to all our sponsors: Empire Flippers, HighLevel, Remote First Recruiting, Insight Matters, and Digital Web Solutions. Their time, generosity, special offers for DCers, swag (especially those flip-flops) and giveaways made the event that much more special!
First-time sponsors mentioned to our team how unique and special the DC is and how welcomed they felt. Sponsorship spots for DCBKK 2025 are open, so please reach out to alexander@dynamitecircle.com if you’re interested in collaborating with us.
Las Fiestas: The Parties!
Some of the best conversations and biggest light bulb moments at DC events don’t necessarily happen in the grand ballroom, or during the business meet-ups. Members consistently tell us that the “hallway track” conversations are worth the entire price of the event ticket.
Night 1: Outdoor dinner at the Citrus Patio of the Grand Hyatt, with plenty of food, drinks, and lots of space for mingling.
Night 2: Party at The Warehouse, a casual chill spot with burgers, pizza, beer, and tons of party games—Jenga, vintage N64 games, Mario Kart, pickleball, ping pong, and other pub games.
Night 3: Rooftop soiree at Reef 28, complete with authentic Mexican tacos, churros, and other local fare.
I struggled to peel myself away from the parties because the conversations were so engaging. I got to talk to so many founders about their businesses, their hometowns, how they grew up, their current family situations, parenthood, dating and relationships, powerlifting, Hyrox, and everything in between.
Final Thoughts
Like I said at the start of this post, it’s hard to describe a DC event if you’ve never been to one. But once you do, you’ll understand why people keep coming back year after year. For me, some things that jump out:
Meaningful conversations everywhere. In-depth reflections, minus the boardrooms and business suits. As one member put it, “What I arguably love most about Dynamite Circle is that I can do a presentation about LinkedIn without sleeves or pants and it’s totally normal.”
Genuine generosity and curiosity about your progress, your business, and your life. One member summed it up perfectly: “These are people who actually give a crap about you when you’re at your lowest.”
Authentic personalities and a real opportunity to “find your people” by arriving just as you are and being yourself.
An unspoken understanding that we’re here to help, grow, and learn—not pitch, sell, or one-up each other. This, I think, truly makes the difference between DC events and other business conferences.
You can re-live the action of this year’s event through our social media highlights on Instagram @dynamitecircle. It’s not the same as being there in person, but it’ll hold you over just long enough until the next event…
