DC Black is a Private Network for Entrepreneurs

DC Black was started in 2023 to serve the highest-growth founders in the Dynamite Circle. Those with larger businesses face unique challenges, and wanted a space to connect directly with each other.

In our first year, 100 members have joined us.

The conversations in DC Black normalize ambition, wealth building, and their challenges. We look to collaborate and coperate as we grow together— by sharing masterminds, ideas, and stories (and a few times a year, a meal in person too).

Requirements to Join

Members must prove $1,000,000 of trailing 12 months of revenue of or more (avg member revenue $5.8 million). Founders with an SDE of $350,000+, or exits of $1,000,000+ in the past two years are encouraged to apply as well. All members are filtered for expertise, personality, and professional trajectory.

The average revenue of a business owner in DC Black is $5.8 million.

Our members are creative, adventurous, cooperative, and open. We love to travel and often built their businesses outside of the standard silicon valley / NYC business scenes.

Daily Conversations

Questions are being asked and answered each day in the active WhatsApp group. There’s no shortage of action and always a chance to learn from other members. Members discuss everything from pricing models, management systems, to life insurance, and investments

Facilitated Mastermind

Our masterminds are led by experienced business owners. The groups are carefully pieced together, and each participant receives resources to receive the maximum they can from the experience. Most new members can join a group within 90 days of joining the community.

Introductions to Members

The community thrives when members connect and become friends. New members are introduced to relevant members during onboarding, as requested, or at one of many virtual and in-person events designed for connections. If you’re seeking a certain type of business owner or someone who has experience in a specific field, the team will help you find and introduce you to that person in the community.

Peer-Led Sessions

We have an enormous amount of experience and expertise within the DC Black community. Peer-led sessions are hour-long calls where community members present on an area of expertise or success with time for Q&A from their DC Black peers. Topics have included sales funnels, hiring practices, niche podcasting, and marketing levers.

Scale Sessions

Every month, we host Scale sessions on a variety of operational practices. The goal of these sessions is to hear from one another about what is working, what is not working, and new ideas in the space of operations and scaling.‘Scale’ is an internal operational framework that is accessible and effective in helping businesses reach their short-, mid-, and long-term goals

Community Facilitators

Clare Jacky

Clare is an executive coach with hands-on experience developing and deploying business systems at scale.

As Chief of Staff at Drip (a marketing automation SaaS that serves thousands of customers), Clare onboarded over 100 employees and led the restructuring of the engineering organization.

Recently, she built Rally’s foundational strategic planning process and recruited the entire go-to-market team. She’s an expert at marrying strategies and processes to particular moments in your business.

Since joining the DC team, she has helped to build the DC Black community along with the DC Scale operational program.

Ian Schoen

Ian has founded two multi-million dollar lifestyle businesses (e-commerce & publishing).

He is the co-host of the Tropical MBA podcast and co-founder of the Dynamite Circle. Since 2011 he has been fortunate enough to have a front row seat to many of the world’s most successful online businesses through the DC.

In 2023 along with the DC team, he launched DC Black, a community for 7 & 8 figure entrepreneurs.

Previously, he founded and exited an e-commerce and product manufacturing company.

Richard Jalichandra

Richard is a seasoned technology executive with experience scaling technology companies in ad tech, e-commerce, mobile and SaaS.

Throughout his career as a CEO, he has led teams worldwide that have generated billions of dollars in revenue. He was previously Executive Chairman of Clickbank, CEO of bodybuilding.com, Mapmyfitness, Technorati and others. He also founded 101 commerce, the first Amazon FBA aggreator.

After living in Singapore for 10 years, he currently resides in Austin and is a General Partner of Incline Capital Investments LLC.

Mark Brenwall

Mark has been a member of the Dynamite Circle since 2013. He built a brand in the CrossFit space in early 2014, selling primarily on Amazon. The business went from zero to 7 figures in profit in less than 7 years.

In 2021 he sold the brand for a mid-7-figure exit. Since exiting, he’s been focused on investing primarily in real estate (Tbilisi, Prague, and Lisbon) and other cash-flowing investments.

Mark lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand, with his wife of 7 years.

FAQs

  • You will fill out an application form that asks questions around your current business, your own entrepreneurial journey, and your goals. We will follow up with any questions we have once we receive your information. If you qualify, we’ll schedule a call to ensure it’s a good fit. We’ll ask for a signed P&L to verify you qualify for the revenue requirement.

    Note that meeting the revenue requirement is necessary, but not a sufficient requirement.

  • $4900/year

  • It's a natural number in our community. Conversations change tone to issues specifically around the scaling up process. Also, we’ve been asked directly by DC members for this to be a necessary but not sufficient standard. Our aim is to build masterminds of founders who have overcome product market fit challenges and are seeking to Scale via connections with experts and others who are doing the same.

    Note we also filter for founder fit, growth orientation, and other factors. The revenue requirement is necessary, but not sufficient.

  • Yes! We will pair members with businesses that are at their scale, meaning if you are 5M+ or 10M+ you will be with other businesses at your same stage of growth.

  • Having an expert facilitator and thresholds to enter into the community will create more structure and shared experience amongst participants, which can make a huge difference.

  • It renews every 12 months.
