In May, we’re headed to sunny Mexico for an all-new DC MEXICO.
Join us at the Grand Hyatt - a beachside 5-Star resort in Playa Del Carmen.
Our venue features infinity pools (some of the pools connect to the rooms), a beachside view, mangrove outdoor lobby spaces, restaurants, bars, and a world-class conference facility.
We’ll be just a 2-minute walk to all the sights and attractions of 5th Avenue in downtown Playa Del Carmen.

Monday: Masterminds & the Opening ¡Fiesta!
Join a Curated Mastermind Group
Masterminds are a yearly DC tradition that endures because of their impact. At our last event, 75% of attendees participated.
In your mastermind group, each member will have 25 minutes to share a business challenge or opportunity and get feedback. Groups are composed of founders with similar aims. This a great way to meet founders and it’s common to walk away as friends with plans to keep the conversation going.
Opening ¡Fiesta! - “Beach Sunset”
We’ll watch the sunset, sip margaritas, and meet new friends at the Hyatt’s beachfront venue. There’ll be a full taco bar to fuel our conversations. Floral or tropical attire is encouraged.
Tuesday: Group Discussions and Speakers
Stories from the Stage
We’ll spend Tuesday morning together in the Grand Ballroom (just a few paces from the beach!) discussing DC stories and hearing from members. There’ll also be time to talk with friends and meet new members.
Meet More DCers with Group Discussions
In the afternoon, we’ll break into small group discussions throughout the venue. These groups will give us a structured way to connect.
We’ll have leaders and conversation topics ranging from personal to business. All of this will be guided with the aim of introducing you to more members than you might have otherwise. Even if you are an introvert, you’ll seamlessly spend Tuesday afternoon sharing stories with business owners.
Evening Gathering
There’ll be a recommended venue (TBA), which will be the main meeting point for the night. Many members take the second night of the event to explore the city, arrange dinners, and meet more DCers at the main meeting place.
Wednesday: Stories from the Mainstage & Closing Party
Stories from the Stage
We’ll spend Wednesday hearing stories in the ballroom, where we aim to get as many members to participate as possible. Between talks, there’ll be time to discuss, ask questions, and talk business.
More members will present from this main stage than at any previous DC events. These members are telling all with behind-the-scenes stories and sharing challenges as much as success.
Here are the speakers:
A Journey to Happiness: Struggles in Entrepreneurship and Mental Health by John Doherty
How a Rebrand Took us from Layoffs to Seven Figures by Timothy Moser
Before and After the Exit by Cathryn Lavery
How Running a Business Made Me a Better Person (and vice versa) by Jeff Fruhwirth
From ‘Set for Life’ to Calls with Bankruptcy Lawyers in One Week by Ray Blakney
Million Dollar Merger: How a Merger and Swallowing Your Pride Might be the Boost You Need by Jeff Sauer
What I Learned from Starting All Over Again, Many Times in My Life by Karla Singson
Acquiring Businesses: From the Deal to Structuring, Raising Capital, and Finding Operators by Khai Nguyen
Surviving the Startup Apocalypse by Max Sinclair
The Three Tools Every CEO Needs by Jason Long
How Being a Bad Manager Made Me a Better Leader by Rob Te Braake
Lessons from Running a $2M Agency While Being a Full-Time College Student by Emil Barr
The Closing Party
We’ll toast to a great event and close out a fantastic DC Mexico. Expect more great food and drink as we spend the final evening together.
The Venue: The Grand Hyatt
Today, Playa Del Carmen remains one of the largest chapters in the community. The members there are active, welcoming, and excited to have the community visit their home.
The walking area along 5th street is safe and welcoming to visitors.
If you’re looking for adventure, Playa offers cenotes, diving, and Mayan ruins. Looking for a family vacation? Resorts, water parks, and beaches await.
Playa is a wonderful place to visit and offers something for everyone.
The Grand Hyatt Resort offers:
Cabanas on the beach
24-Hour Fitness Center
Tequila and Mezcal Bar
Kids Entertainment and Daycare
Three infinity pools and one children’s pool
Cenote Spa, featuring Mayan Riviera therapies
Activities such as day trips, bike tours, and cooking classes
Three restaurants: Fine Dining, Mexican Cuisine, and a Sushi restaurant
Within any point in the hotel, you will be no further than a few minutes walk to a pool and a margarita (we timed it).
You could conceivably never leave the property (want something at 7/11? Just ask the Concierge.)
The Rooms
The rooms either have balconies that overlook the Caribbean waters, are next to mangroves and gardens, are ‘swim-up’ rooms with a pool, or have their own private plunge pool (Book early to get access to the rooms with swim-up access).
The spaciousness of the rooms is what jumped out to us. The bathrooms are large, with rainfall showers with dual sinks.
Childcare and Family Activities
Your kids can enjoy camp ‘Tortuguita’ (Little Turtle), where there are daily activities, toys, classes, and games. There’s an arcade area for teens with video games and air hockey tables called ‘Hashtag.’ If you need more childcare, the hotel can help arrange babysitting services.
There are daily activities such as yoga classes, kayak tours, cooking classes, and more. See the full schedule of activities.
The Booking Link
After purchasing your ticket, you’ll receive an email with a link to book at the Hyatt. This link will offer you the best possible price. Please purchase through our link. The Hyatt is offering the best prices for our attendees. In addition to you getting the best price, purchasing through the link helps us develop a trusted and lasting relationship with our new hotel partner.
Conference and Common Areas
The resort has more than 15,000 square feet of dynamic indoor and outdoor space. This space will enhance the time attendees can spend together with plenty of meeting areas. Sunshine and fresh air are always a few steps away and on the resort property.

When to Arrive and Leave
Come early if you can. At every DC event, attendees arrive one to two weeks early to maximize their time together. It’s rare to hang out with so many like-minded people, so take advantage. We recommend arriving two to three days before to give you time to get settled and have a few days with DCers.
Post-Event, DCers will stay for a few days to a week or longer. In true ‘DC Tradition,’ attendees turn the conference into a chance to travel and enjoy a full vacation. Members bring their families, meet up with friends, and enjoy the best of what the area has to offer.
There’ll be an event app and WhatsApp group for members to communicate and organize plans.
