It's been talked about many times over the years, but now it's finally happening — the first proper DCx Tanzania Adventure!
We'll be journeying on an eight-day safari through the most storied areas of Africa — the Serengeti Plains — then we'll have another eight days to trek up to the Roof of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. (You can join one or the other, or both.)
Safari: November 4-11, 2023
Kilimanjaro: November 12-21, 2023
Optional Zanzibar Post-trip: November 21~ (up to you!)
We already have eight people signed up and are looking for up to four three more DCers to join us on this awesome adventure.
SAFARI HIGHLIGHTS
Eight days of safari through three National Parks: Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti (including arrival and departure days)
Luxury lodges and tented camps (the internet will be accessible during much of the trip)
See all of the animals that you saw in The Lion King (minus Timon, as meerkats are only in southern Africa), including The Big Five
The animals often get up close and personal — no binoculars are needed here
Delicious meals throughout we can cater to food allergies and preferences)
Expert guides that have 20+ years of experience in wildlife tracking
KILIMANJARO HIGHLIGHTS
Six days of moderate hiking (6-7 hours or so a day) towards the top of the mountain (19,341 ft/5895 m), and one and a half days down. (No technical mountaineering experience needed.)
The very best tents, pillows, and sleeping pads to keep you comfortable on the way up (you can bring your own sleeping bag or rent one from us for $50 total)
An expert team to guide you, cook meals, and carry all of your gear (you just carry your day pack)
