How to Meet 4 Generous Digital Nomads in 1 Hour

Running a remote business can be a lonely journey.

You’re often cooped up in your home office or local café, working by yourself, checking in with your team (if you have one) via Slack or Google Meet…

But having very little interaction with other remote founders or digital nomads who understand what you’re going through.

What if there was a way you could create meaningful and genuine connections with 4 location-independent entrepreneurs every month?

I joined the Dynamite Circle team in September as part of the marketing department. To be more effective in my role, I wanted to take advantage of opportunities to hear from members and learn more about them.

So, I decided to attend our first round of Connect Calls of the year. What happened on those calls was 100% not what I expected—in the best way possible.

Here’s how Connect Calls work:

1. Connect Calls are open to DC members only. (Apply here if you’re not already part of the community.) You log in to the DC app, go to the “Connect Calls” section, and register for an upcoming call. You’ll receive a calendar invite to remind you about the call you registered for.

2. On the date and time of the call, go back to the “Connect Calls” section of the DC App. Our AI-powered system will pair you for a 1:1 video chat on Google Meet with another attendee.

3. For 15 minutes, you’ll get to talk to a helpful, friendly stranger (and by the end of the call you won’t be strangers anymore!) You’ve now made a new connection with another remote founder who you might just see again at a future DC event.

4. You’ll get to do this 3 more times with 3 more DC members for a total of 4 new connections in 1 hour! There’s special technology that gives you countdowns as your 15 minutes runs out, and automatically connects you to the next call without you having to do anything.

Here’s how my calls went

  • I got to meet DC members Stephen Steers and Matt Gelgota. They were both very welcoming upon hearing that I was new to the team.

  • I got to learn more about both their businesses. Stephen is in B2B SaaS with public speaking on the side, and Matt is in marketing specializing in landing page revamps.

  • I discovered that Stephen and I had something in common—we’re both Jamaican! He showed me his Jamaican flag hanging up in his living room, which was a really fun experience for the both of us.

  • Both Stephen and Matt surprised me by asking how they could help me. That should have been something I was asking them! They genuinely wanted to know what they could do to support me in my new role.

  • I learned about other members in the community. For example, I mentioned to Stephen that I’m into powerlifting as my primary form of exercise. He gave me the name of another DC member who’s crushing it in business and is a powerlifter as well. I recognized her name from the powerlifting scene and had no idea she was in the DC!

Attending Connect Calls is the easiest and fastest way to:

  • Make connections with other remote founders through shared industries and interests

  • Give and receive helpful advice on business and life

  • Get names of other entrepreneurs with expertise that can help you solve specific challenges

  • Combat the isolation of being a remote founder and stay connected every month with people who genuinely care and want to see you win

Join Dynamite Circle here to get access to these calls and in-person events with other remote founders like you!
