DC Black NYC, December 1st - 3rd, 2023

Dear DC Black Member,

You are cordially invited to our first DC Black Members Only event.

The premise is to get to know each other while enjoying the backdrop of one of the world’s greatest cities.

We’ll dine with a private chef, present to each other our biggest plans for 2024, catch a Brooklyn Nets game in a private suite, and even eat some classic NYC bagels, all while having a good time and laying the groundwork for 2024.

We’ll arrive on Friday, and fly out on Sunday.

Just register your spot, book your flight and hotel, and we’ve got the rest covered.

Our Hotel Venue

We’ll be staying at the Walker Hotel in the heart of Tribeca. The building is a former ribbon factory converted into a 4-star hotel.

It boasts large windows and nightly live jazz music downstairs. We recommend staying here as serendipitous moments are sure to happen in common areas. We’re also walking distance from our Saturday venue.

We have negotiated a discounted rate for our group, you can book your hotel room here with this link.

DCB NYC Schedule

Friday, December 1st | 7PM | Private Member’s Only Dinner

Let’s get to know each other over a privately prepared meal by Chef Pasquale Martinelli.

Pasquale has spent nearly a quarter-century spreading his culinary philosophy and crafting masterful meals rooted in true Italian tradition.

His team will share their art with us as we dine in the heart of NYC in a private setting. We’ll have the opportunity to dine on amazing cuisine while getting to know every member in attendance.

Saturday, December 2nd | 9:30AM | DC Black Strategy Sessions

We’ve reserved a classic New York Loft space where we’ll kick off the morning with world famous bagels, lox and spreads along with coffee and tea. Lunch will also be served in the same space.

Throughout the day, each member will give a lightning talk stating your goals for 2024 while reflecting on this year. You’ll receive feedback from fellow members about your goals throughout the day, their feasibility, and perhaps (and probably!) how you might think about them differently and find quicker routes to the outcomes you're seeking.

You’ll walk away from the day knowing several other members and their businesses while yourself having an articulated plan of attack going into 2024.

The power of having 20 other entrepreneurs know who you are, what you’ve done, and where you are going in the very near future is something we believe in so much. Over the years, we’ve seen these connections turn into friendships, partnerships, opportunities, and incredible financial outcomes.

Saturday Evening, December 2nd | 4PM | VIP Brooklyn Nets Tickets

In the evening, we’ll put the hard work aside and let the party begin. We’ve rented out a private box suite at the Barclays center to watch an NBA game live.

The Brooklyn Nets will take on the Orlando Magic.

Even if you don’t follow basketball (me either), the Barclays Center and environment should be electric. We’ll have the suite catered with food and drinks. On the way over we will ride in style to Brooklyn in a minibus that will also take us back to the hotel at the end of the night. Bus driver already confirmed roadies are kosher!

Sunday Morning, December 3rd | 10AM | Morgan Library (Optional!)

If you have time before flying out Sunday, we’ve booked a tour at the Morgan library. This was John Peirpont Morgan’s family library, the founder of J.P. Morgan. The library is like stepping back in time and into European Architecture.

Not many places have this level of charm, and the artifacts it holds are just as awe-inspiring.

Our museum guide will walk our group through time, explaining the fascinating history, the architecture and sharing their wisdom on the many treasures inside.

For me, NYC = great memories and businesses

None of the amazing architecture, parks or institutions that make NYC great were built solo. It took a lot of collaboration to cement their place in time. Let’s get in on the action in a uniquely DC way; with fun, commiserating, and building relationships that can last a lifetime.

This event will have a capacity of 20 members.

Our registration price is the cost of the venues and activities amortized across 20 of us. One of the stated goals of DC Black is to try and get our membership together as often as possible, so we’re trying to keep our gatherings cost efficient while also having some amazing experiences together.

Once you register, we’ll follow-up with all the details.

Looking forward to seeing you there,

Ian, Clare, and Dan
