Recap of DCx Taipei 2023: Highlights, Photos, and Fun
After a few years of absence, DCx Taipei successfully returned. This was the third DCxTPE, the first two taking place in 2018 and 2019. Here’s a recap of the event with some photos and highlights. Hopefully, we’ll see you at DCx Taipei 2024! Special thanks to our host Dom Wells who helped bring DCers back to this amazing city.
A Little DCx Taipei History:
Before COVID, the DCx Taipei events in 2018 and 2019 helped solidify the city as an important DC Hub. (Shoutout to Mark Zhang, Marco Grishaber, and Juan Montero for organizing great events.) The event has returned and perfectly placed itself within the DCBKK Migration: Taipei in September, Bangkok in October, and Chiang Mai in November.
The previous DCx Taipei events took place in May. The decision to change to September was based on the hopes of better seasonal weather, the ‘Mid-Autumn Festival’ taking place, and integrating Taipei with the annual ‘DCBKK migration.’

Day Hike and Mid-Autumn Festival BBQ
DCers in town began meeting up earlier in the week for some meals. There was a night market tour led by Dom on Thursday, where attendees had a chance to try local food. However, the event officially kicked off on Friday with a hike on Tiger Mountain. The group all met outside of the MRT station where they received bagged lunches and headed up the mountain together.
After the hike, everyone had some downtime before the Mid-Autumn Festival BBQ. The ‘Mid-Autumn Festival’ is a major holiday in Taiwan. It’s traditional to host a barbeque with family and friends, and that’s just what we did.

Speaker Presentations and Founder Mingling
We spent the day hanging out at the JustCo coworking space. We had the entire space to ourselves, allowing us plenty of room to hang out and get to know each other.
Our Speaker Lineup:
Ali Marsland - Life Masterminds
Aaron Lynn - Professional Planning for Couples
Chris Dietrich - Immersive Bootcamp and Adult Learning
Marco Grishaber - How to Get More Sales with YouTube Ads
Later that night, the attendees had a group meal at a Latino and Chinese fusion restaurant.
Sunday, October 1st
The day began with a bike ride along the river, heading to the coastal neighborhood of Bali. Taipei has some great bike paths for easy riding that extend beyond the city.
At the end end of the bike road, we stopped for lunch at a Thai restaurant. The meals we had together were all family style which was perfect for trying everything and truly sharing a meal together. This late Sunday lunch was the closing of DCx Taipei.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event possible!
For those of you who couldn’t make it, we hope to see you next year!
